Easy Authentic Tlacoyos

Tlacoyos de Frijol is a thick corn tortillas stuffed with mashed black beans, grilled, and topped with salad, salsa, and cheese.  Learn how to make this delicious Mexican street food!

Step 1: Start with pico de gallo by mixing all ingredients in a bowl, add lemon juice, and set it aside. 

Step 2: For the beans, heat lard or oil, mash them, cook, and set aside. 

Step 3: Make the dough by combining masa harina, salt, and water until smooth, divide into 10 portions. 

Step 4: Assemble the tlacoyos by flattening a portion, add mashed beans, fold, pinch edges, and flatten again. 

Step 5: Cook the tlacoyos on a griddle, then serve them warm, topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, spicy salsa, and cheese. Enjoy!
