Café de olla is a traditional Mexican drink perfect to enjoy with pan dulce. This warm and aromatic drink is made with cinnamon, anise, and other spices.

Ingredients: – 8 Tbs ground coffee – 5 ½ oz piloncillo (or brown sugar) – 8 ¼ cups water – 2 small sticks of cinnamon – 2 anise star – 2 whole clove

Step 1: Place piloncillo, cinnamon,  anise, and whole cloves in a pot with water. Simmer for a few minutes.

Step 2: Turn off the heat, add ground coffee and cover the pot. Allow to infuse for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Strain and serve in mugs. Mexican clay mugs are called "jarritos" and are perfect to serve this cozy drink.

Enjoy this cozy drink with pan dulce, tamales, or alone.
