Instructions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, taco seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
Cook the meat until browned. Once done, keep it covered and warm.
In a small bowl combine all ingredients for the sauce together, adjust the seasoning to taste, and transfer the sauce to a squeeze bottle or a bowl.
Place the hamburger buns on a clean surface and use a rolling pin to flatten them like a taco shell (about ¼” thick).
Assemble tacos by placing a rolled-out bun and adding a slice of shredded cheese first.
Follow with some warm cooked hamburger meat then add shredded lettuce, diced onion, pickles, and pickled jalapeños.
Finish with a good drizzle of sauce and serve!
Notes
You can make ahead the meat and sauce and store them in the fridge in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
After flattened, you can give a quick toast to the buns in a bread toaster for a slightly crunchy touch.
Make sure the hamburger meat is hot when you add it over the cheese, so it will slightly melt it.
